King Charles Makes Unexpected Move Concerning Princess Beatrice After Prince Andrew’s Public Fallout — Royal Family Tensions Mount

King Charles Grants Princess Beatrice a New Royal Role Amid Ongoing Scandal Surrounding Prince Andrew

In the midst of renewed controversy involving her father, Prince Andrew, King Charles has quietly given Princess Beatrice a prominent new position within the royal fold. The Princess has been appointed Deputy Patron of The Outward Bound Trust, a charity long supported by the royal family.

This announcement comes six years after the disgraced Duke of York stepped down as the charity’s Royal Patron following public outrage over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

During a formal gathering for the charity’s supporters at St James’s Palace in London on Thursday, it was also revealed that Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, will now serve as the charity’s new Royal Patron.

The Outward Bound Trust focuses on empowering young people through outdoor education and adventure-based learning. Following Andrew’s 2019 resignation, the organisation was led by two Deputy Patrons, Sir Chris Bonington and Lord Kirkham.

As of this week, Prince Edward officially assumes the role of Royal Patron, while Princess Beatrice takes her place as Deputy — a move seen as a major show of confidence from the King.

The charity expressed delight at the new appointments, saying the announcement “marks the beginning of a new chapter in our mission to inspire a more adventurous generation — encouraging young people to embrace challenges and realise their full potential.”

Princess Beatrice, who has already served as a Trustee for six years, continues her family’s long-standing connection to Outward Bound. Both she and Prince Edward follow in the footsteps of the late Prince Philip, who was a passionate supporter of the charity’s mission.

At the London event, Beatrice and Edward spoke with students from Walsall Academy in the West Midlands, who shared stories from their outdoor expedition in the Lake District earlier this year.

One student, Sadie (18), presented Prince Edward with a rowan tree sapling — symbolising strength, courage, and resilience. Another student, Leo (18), gifted Princess Beatrice a Celtic brooch, representing unity, continuity, and good fortune.

Martin Davidson, Chief Executive of Outward Bound, praised the royal duo, saying:

“With The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re entering a new era — one where every young person can test their limits, build confidence, and realise that anything is possible. Their involvement shows a shared belief that adventure truly changes lives.”

The announcement comes as Prince Andrew faces mounting legal and public scrutiny, following reports that he has been summoned to appear before the U.S. Congress for questioning about his alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The formal congressional request, issued just days after Andrew was stripped of his remaining royal titles and honours, underscores the growing seriousness of his situation — even as his daughter quietly steps forward into a respected new role within the royal family.
