Hannah Harper had viewers (and judge Carrie Underwood) in tears when she arrived to her American Idol audition and sang an original song called “String Cheese,” which she wrote while dealing with postpartum depression after the birth of her third child.

Through and through, Hannah is a family woman, which she made abundantly clear during her introduction to Idol viewers. But Hannah also had an impressive voice that earned her three yeses from the judges and sent her through to Hollywood Week, where she’ll compete in the next round of American Idol competition.
While the focus of Harper’s audition was her children, she also has the support of her husband amid her Idol journey. Scroll down to learn more about him and their relationship.

Hannah’s husband is Devon Mendenhall. They got married on April 7, 2018, and while it’s unclear exactly when they started dating, Hannah first appeared on Devon’s Instagram page in July 2017.
Devon’s social media does not reveal much about him, aside from the fact that he is a “fishing addict” who lives in Southern Missouri.
What happened to Hannah Harper’s husband?
In February 2019, Devon was seriously injured in a car accident. Per a GoFundMe page, he suffered a collapsed lung and fractured back in the crash and had to be airlifted to St. Louis.
The crash happened after Devon’s pickup truck slid on ice, overturned, and rolled into a fence, per the West Plains Daily Quill. The outlet reported that Devon also had a broken ankle and spent four days in the hospital.
