NFL Players Push Back On Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show With Some Saying Headliner Should Be American Despite His Massive Popularity

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show isn’t exactly getting rave reviews from some athletes. Bad Bunny will be the main musical attraction at Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on Sunday.

There are some less than thrilled to have him as the primary halftime entertainment in Santa Clara this weekend. The Puerto Rican-born star is among the most successful Latin artists of all-time. He not only draws big crowds to his concerts, but his songs are among the highest-rated on American Billboard charts for Latin singers. There are some in the NFL, though, that may not be so fond of him.

A shocking amount of NFL players disapprove of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime performance

The votes are in, and not everyone is excited about Bad Bunny’s upcoming show. Not all NFL players are keen to see him on the half-time stage this weekend. A poll conducted by The Athletic asked players their thought on the rapper being the main Super Bowl musical act. A surprising 41.4% of players polled didn’t approve of him. One NFC offensive player even admitted, “I don’t even know who Bad Bunny is.” The mystery person believes an American should be the headliner, adding that they think the NFL is trying too hard with international stuff. Even Donald Trump admitted in October that he’d never heard of the rapper.

For the record Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States. Some of the other players polled wonder why one of the many artists who are avid football fans won’t get to headline the halftime festivities.
