For a while, it’s felt like Prince Harry’s decision to relocate to the US didn’t have anything to do with love for his country or even his family, but with a desire to keep his family safe. Now, after the prince met with his father for the first time in over a year on good terms, things have changed. Harry himself said he was now willing to go back to visit the UK, and even bring his kids. But does that mean he and Meghan Markle are willing to move back?
RadarOnline.com is reporting that they might. A source shared with the outlet that, “Harry’s representatives have been discreetly scouting homes within reach of Windsor Great Park – somewhere within easy reach of friends, family, and London. He wants a private residence that’s secure, family-friendly, and not tied to royal property.”
The insider added, “He’s always said he wants his children to know his homeland. The idea of them spending school holidays or even school terms there has never gone away.”
Markle, for her part, is reportedly working on a reconciliation with Kate Middleton. “As for Meghan, although America is home, she’s keen to re-establish links with the royal family. They are carrying out a secret plan called ‘Project Thaw,’ and Meghan still believes they can all fully reconcile.”
RadarOnline.com had previously reported that Markle was planning a “clear-the-air” meeting with Middleton. “Meghan has asked her people to reach out to Kate and organize a call. She hopes this will be the first step towards reconciliation,” an insider said.
However, despite recent reports that after the King Charles meeting, the next two to meet could be William and Harry, and that the meeting could happen soon, the outlet now claims Prince William is “determined to block” a possible meeting between Meghan and Kate or his brother moving back to England.
“William is determined to block, or at the very least severely hamper, Harry’s move to Windsor,” sources said. “He’s the heir now, carrying the institution. From his perspective, re-admitting Harry in any official or semi-official capacity risks confusion and fresh controversy. He feels burned and doesn’t want to reopen old wounds.”
These new reports, however, indicate Middleton disagrees. “Kate, meanwhile, remains quietly sympathetic but careful not to cross her husband,” the insider explained. “She understands Harry’s wish to reconnect with his roots, but she is equally conscious that supporting him too openly could put her at odds with William.”
What does that mean for the future? Reportedly, Middleton would “love peace between the brothers, but she also knows it has to come on William’s timetable. Her instinct is to keep the door open ajar without forcing it open – she won’t push, but she’s the one person both men still trust.”
The source also added, “When it comes to Meghan, though, Kate’s not willing to brush aside the past – she doesn’t want her rejoining the royal fold.”
All of this sounds very complicated, if nothing else, because Meghan Markle is indeed Prince Harry’s wife, so a reconciliation that doesn’t involve her doesn’t seem feasible. But we will have to wait and see if the brothers do end up meeting and where the drama surrounding the family takes us next.
