Sharon Osbourne opens up about her potential move to Birmingham to run for office

Sharon Osbourne has recently been considering to enter politics following the death of her husband Ozzy last year.
According to Radar Online, a source revealed that Sharon is thinking to shift from show business to local politics notably after Conservative figures requested her to stand in city council elections in May in the UK against Shahid Butt, standing for the Independent Candidates Alliance.
For those unversed, Shahid reportedly convicted over a plot to blow up the British consulate in Yemen, though he claimed the charge was “fabricated”.
Interestingly, Sharon responded to an Instagram post from Richard Donaldson, an ex-soldier and campaigner, writing, “I think I’m gonna move to Birmingham and put my name down for the ballot to be on the council. I’m serious.”

Later, the media personality’s clip prompted a swift response from local Conservatives, who have been searching for a high-profile candidate.
A source close to the Conservatives said the pitch was not just about celebrity appeal but the feeling is that Sharon would instantly change the dynamic of the campaign and the council chamber itself.”
“She is not someone who shies away from confrontation, and they believe she would publicly challenge senior officials, demand answers on how public funds are being spent, and push conversations about the city’s finances that many people have avoided for years,” mentioned an insider.
The source told the outlet, “In the Conservatives’ view, Sharon’s presence alone would make it much harder for the establishment to carry on as usual.”
Another insider added that the idea of a campaign had “sparked something” in Sharon after months dominated by mourning the loss of her husband.
Meanwhile, Sharon didn’t not formally agree to stand at the elections but council officials emphasised that the decision would be her alone.
